my daycare kids

my kids are the best, just thought i would tell you that. you are all such clever parents!

under 8's day

what a hoot, our kids looked fantastic with their little badges on. kellie weier went with no kids, but managed to have so much fun! boy did the kids sleep well when we got home, no arguing on that day. the state school did a great job in organising the big day.

i am qualified!

i congratulate myself on attaining my certificate 111 in childcare! you can all relax now as i am qualified to look after your children.....now for the diploma...........

camp quality

well off i went to training feeling excited and slightly concerned, and found the most fantastic motivated people. The weekend was great, and now i am set to go, my job is to go on weekends and weekly camps with the kids, so i will be away a fair bit over the rest of the year.

malaysia was great!

well we have returned, slightly browner and more tired than ever. malaysia is great, like phuket before it got big. the people are friendly, the children are cute, the animals unique and the jungles green. We walked over suspension bridges (45 metres above the ground in the jungle), visited headhunters houses, observed orangutangs ( or they observed us, bern climbed mt kinabulu and of course had the one hour massage for $10.

vale molly

I am sad to say that we have lost our favourite little foxie, molly. things sure are not the seem without my little soft molly talking and smiling at me. needless to say, we are all somewhat devestated by this, i thought once that i would never get so attatched to animals but i guess that is just the type of person that i am. i will get another one, but not until we move over the road next year.

playgroup at the park

thought you might like to see a photo of what we do at the park....yes, Sandy plays on the swings!!!

Lets talk about sara.....

sara is a wonderful young lady who visits sandy's family daycare on Mondays and Fridays (and any other day that she can get out of a bit of school!). Sara is studying for her cert 3, and her time here counts towards her completion of her tafe course. She has a natural way with children, shows respect to them and lets them know her expectations. They love her so much that when they are in trouble with me, they run to her!!!! No seriously, I wish the world had more Sara's is it, as she is a great role model for other teenagers.

concert next week

here is a reminder that i am away next week on tuesday and wednesday while i attend a cultural event (instead of a sporting event!!). i am off to the Matchbox Twenty concert in brisbane. Looiking forward to that one.

camp quality

well exciting news, i have been accepted to attend a training inservice so that i can attend a camp quality for kids with cancer. i put this project on the backburner last year but i will be doing it towards the end of this year. dont panic about alternate daycare, charleys place or alternate carers can help us out.

hi there everyone, matt made his much anticipated debut on the rugby union field in toowoomba yesyerday. lets just say i spent the whole morning giggling and that i dont think that the rugby union players will be making a calender like the men of rugby league do!!! seriously though, matt had fun and learnt the game quickly.

March at Sandy's..

In the first week we looked at flowers and to match, the colour green. We did a flower collage, planted some plants in pots and collected different leaves from the garden.

Our multicultural theme for the month is Thailand. As Sandy has been there twice and Chrissy three times, there were lots of 'hands on' things for the children to explore.

Week two saw us discovering all the yellow things in the world. This is a lead up to Harmondy Day, which we will be celebrating in the fourth week of the month.

Dinosaurs were the theme for the week, and we all had some dinosaur jelly and lollies. We had playgroup here at Sandy's house, with 22 other children and their carers.

In the week running up to Easter we made nests with chickens and made cards for our families. We also ate lots and lots of chocolate.

In the 1st week of March, the colour focus was on brown and we focused on our families (Grandparents, sisters, brothers etc) We did some collage using all the exciting types of paper that we could find.

Playgroup this week was at Mova's. We had fun doing harmony day activities including icing and eating party cakes.
